Since we purchased our first property, Tjelland Farm, in 2017, expanding the Liberstad landmass has been a high priority for us. Our initial expansion occurred in 2020 when my wife and I acquired a residential house and roughly 40,000 sqm of land north to Liberstad 's initial property. This new piece of land was not only a valuable addition to Liberstad, featuring a large farming building, a guesthouse, a sand quarry, and a scenic stretch of the water stream leading to Mandal river, but it also became my family's new home.

After our first expansion of Liberstad, we set our sights on another piece of land to the north, for which we had already made development plans. Unfortunately, this land was part of a larger farm owned by our nearest neighbor, and our attempts to purchase the entire farm proved unsuccessful. However, we did not let this setback discourage us. We presented our plans for a portion of the neighbor's property and made an offer to purchase roughly 75,000 sqm of land. Unfortunately, the offer was declined. But, the neighbors proposed a swap deal wherein they would give us the land we wanted if we gave them a piece of our land in return.
The land the neighbors wanted was situated at the top of the mountain north of the lake. After inspecting the land, we realized that it was mostly swamp and would not be of much use to us. On the other hand, the land we would be receiving was far more valuable to us. After some negotiations regarding the size of the land that would be swapped, we reached a mutually satisfactory agreement, and in 2022, the swap was finalized.

Car Park
As soon as we acquired the new land, we wasted no time and began developing it according to our plans. Our first priority was to create a spacious parking area, spanning over 5000 sqm, to accommodate the parking needs of Liberstad during larger events such as festivals and concerts. Prior to this, Liberstad was only able to provide parking for a maximum of 30 cars, which clearly was insufficient for large events.
We began the process by removing all the soil from the designated area and piled it up for future use. The next step was to transport over 3000 cubic meters of rocks and gravel from our explosion quarry. We used this material to level out a 7500 sqm area where the new parking area will be constructed.

The new parking area that we are developing will comfortably fit around 120-130 cars, motorhomes, or camping wagons, thus providing ample parking space for visitors to Liberstad during these large events.
Parkview Pads
In addition to the parking area, we have also allocated about 1500 sqm of land for long-term rental plots, comprising of 8-10 plots of around 150 sqm each.
These plots are designed for members who wish to reside in Liberstad for extended periods and wants a permanent spot for their motorhome, camping wagon, or tiny house. Monthly rental arrangements will be available, and renters can construct carports or extensions to accommodate their vehicles.
We will also develop park and green areas around the rental plots for shared use. These areas will be equipped with park benches, a BBQ pit, and a children's playground. In the future, we also plan to provide water and electricity services to the area, further enhancing the convenience and comfort of living in Liberstad.
Liberstad Hills

The recently acquired land is divided by the main road leading to Liberstad, with The Car Park and The Parkview Pads located on the west side of the road, and a new area we've named Liberstad Hills on the east side. Covering approximately 52,000 sqm, Liberstad Hills offers a stunning view towards the south over Liberstad, and is planned as an exclusive residential area with 10-20 permanent housing plots in the future.
As we continue to work on several construction projects in Liberstad, the development of Liberstad Hills will have to wait and will not begin in the immediate future. However, we are excited to continue expanding our land holdings and developing new areas for our members.
We are thrilled about the progress of Liberstad with our recent land acquisitions, the Car Park, Parkview Pads, and Liberstad Hills. Our commitment to creating a truly unique and sustainable community is unwavering, and we are grateful to have you, our fellow Liberstad members, along for this incredible journey. We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
Sounds good! =)
