For centuries, countless individuals have sought to reform the state, believing they could shape it into something just, moral, or even voluntary. Minarchists, libertarians, and anarchists alike have wasted time and energy attempting to shrink, refine, or even dismantle the coercive machinery of government. Yet they all fail to grasp a fundamental truth: the state exists through force, coercion, and violence. To believe that a system built upon these principles can be reformed into something ethical is to ignore the very foundation upon which it stands.
The state is not simply a collection of laws, politicians, and institutions. It is the embodiment of systemic aggression. It is a belief system imposed by those who seek to control and accepted by those who surrender their sovereignty. The state cannot be changed from within, nor can it ever function without its core elements of force and control. To participate in its mechanisms—whether by voting, lobbying, or protesting—is to legitimize its authority and reinforce its power.
The Voluntaryist Response
We, the voluntaryists of The Free City of Liberstad, reject this futile obsession with the state. We do not seek to change it. We do not attempt to reform it. We do not waste our lives advocating for minor policy adjustments in an inherently immoral system. Instead, we choose a different path: we walk away.
Rather than fighting the state, we separate from it entirely. We do not play its political games or waste time convincing those who still believe in its necessity. We are not here to beg for permission to be free. We simply take our freedom.
The State and Its Prisoners
The state is not an external force imposed upon unwilling people—it is a system upheld by those who believe in it. The statist is not merely a subject of government; he is its enforcer, its advocate, its willing participant. He obeys its laws, funds its wars, and justifies its violence. He believes that morality can be legislated, that rights can be granted, and that rulers can be trusted.
We do not waste time arguing with the statist, for his chains are of his own making. He fears freedom because he has never known it. He cannot imagine a world without rulers, because he has spent his life submitting to them. He believes that without government, there would be chaos—yet he fails to see that the greatest chaos in history has always come from the state itself.
We do not need to save him. We do not seek to awaken him. We leave him to his fate.
A New World, A New Future
Liberstad is more than a city—it is the embodiment of voluntaryism in action. We are not attempting to create an alternative government. We are not building another system of control. We are forging a new way of life—one built on voluntary interactions, personal responsibility, and absolute non-aggression.
We reject the statist belief in rulers and subjects, in force and obedience. In Liberstad, there are no masters and no slaves. Every individual is sovereign. Every relationship, every transaction, every interaction is voluntary.
Here, freedom is not an ideology—it is a reality.
Let the Statists Have Their State
We do not care what the state does. Let the statists have their elections, their taxes, their surveillance, their endless wars. Let them argue over who should rule them, while they remain prisoners in a system they refuse to question. Let them drown in their own political sewage, forever debating how best to chain themselves.
We are not part of their world. We have evolved beyond their primitive structures of force and domination. We do not need their governments, their institutions, or their permission to live as free men and women.
We do not ask to be left alone—we take our freedom.
The state and its followers are free to continue their cycle of oppression and obedience. But we will not be part of it. We are building something better.
For those who seek true freedom, who wish to live in a world where coercion is rejected and voluntaryism reigns—our doors are open.
For those who still cling to the state, lost in their illusions of control and power—you are free to stay where you are.
We will not wait for the world to change.
We are the change.
This is our path. This is the future.
This is The Free City of Liberstad.
