A market exclusive for Liberstad's residents

Liberstad Internal Market is a closed market that is exclusive for Liberstad's residents. The internal market is a free market where the residents of Liberstad can buy and sell goods and services among each other without government interference. Goods and services in the internal market will not be traded with Norwegian kroner or other national currencies, but rather commodities or free market currencies like bitcoin.

CLOSED MARKET

The Liberstad internal market is a closed market that is cut of from the rest of Norway's economy. Goods and services may only be traded within Liberstad and it will not be using Norwegian kroner or other national currencies. This way the internal market in Liberstad will not in any way affect or interfere with  Norway's economy in general.

FREE MARKET

Liberstad internal market is based on a free market economy. And one of the purposes of this is to see the effect of this market without any government interference. This market will not be free in the sense that all goods and services will be legal, but since Liberstad doesn't have a political city council, there is no need to tax or regulate this market. It will not be allowed to sell goods and services that is illegal in Norway, and all items available in the closed market is also available in Liberstad's open and public market

FREE MARKET MONEY

It will not be allowed to use Norwegian kroner or other national currencies in the internal market. All sales and trades must be carried out by the use of commodities or free market money like bitcoin or other crypto currencies. The participants of the market choose them self what to use as medium of exchange. We will also look into the possibility of creating our own currency for Liberstad's internal market.

MEMBERSHIP

To take part in Liberstad's internal market requires that you are a resident of Liberstad. Either by owning land or house, or by renting.
In addition it also requires a membership. There will be a few rules to participate in this market, and the membership may be withdrawn if a participant doesn't follow the rules of the market.

What is the purpose of Liberstad Internal Market?

A better future

One of the purposes of the Liberstad internal market is to see the effects of a free market economy on a small and local scale. Liberstad and its internal economy will be a pilot project to see if a free market economy can provide all the basic and needed services in a city that is usually provided by the government through taxes.
To do this in a way that will not interfere with the rest of Norway's economy the Liberstads internal market will be completely cut off from the rest of Norway's economy.

To have a free market it is essential that it is the individual participants in the market who decide for them self what they want to trade with. And because there is no city council and no political power in Liberstad, there is no one who can force the market participants to use a certain type of money that is issued by an authoritarian central government. Government fiat money will not be allowed in Liberstads internal market and the medium of exchange will most likely consist of commodities and/or free market currencies like bitcoin.

Only the residents of Liberstad will be able to participate in the internal market. Visitors and tourists in Liberstad will relate to the open and public market in the city that will use Norwegian kroner and where all business will take place through regular Norwegian business with VAT on goods and tax on income and profits. In this way the residents in Liberstad will still pay tax and fees to the Norwegian government and all citizens can run ordinary businesses from Liberstad aimed at the Norwegian and international market as well.

The internal market in Liberstad is based on the economics of the Austrian School and is seen by anarcho-capitalists as the only right way to deal with the market and people. The project is to see if community is better served with this type of economy and whether it is better and more effective than the economy of which the Norwegian state economy is based on. The Norwegian economy is a debt-based monetary system with fiat-currency issued by the national government. The currency is what is referred to as "compulsory unit of payment", and is enforced through Norwegian legislation.

Almost all of the worlds economy is based on the economic system called Keynesian economy, and as everyone knows the world economy is not doing very good lately. We, anarcho-capitalists do not want a state controlled economy through mandatory debt-based fiat currency and central political manipulation of the monetary system. We belive that this economic system is both unsustainable and unmoral, and that it is destructive and damaging to human life and prosperity as well as the planet as a whole.

Liberstad is based on anarcho-capitalism and the non-aggression-principle and this is why we will not and can not, according to our philosophy, use coercion or intimidation to get money for the development of the the city. All trades must be voluntary through mutual consent. And to do this in a maner that in no way creates any problems for the Norwegian economy, this project will take place in a closed market on a small and local level.

Liberstad will be a city that is open for all and all the businesses will follow the rules of VAT and tax for all goods and services sold to those who are not residents of Liberstad.

Anarcho-capitalists/voluntaryists relates to the non-aggression -principle which is an ethical rule of life that for us feels uncomfortable to break. We want to minimize the aggression in society and the most important freedom in any society is to interact and trade with each other voluntarily without government interference.

We will with this project see if a small community like Liberstad can function efficiently without political control, and what kind of results this will have on the development of the city. As voluntaryists we want to minimize the state aggression in society, but we do not want to achieve this through political means as we see this as an immoral act which involves forcing our opinions on to others

Rather we want to establish a separate society and live as close to our philosophical convictions as possible because this gives us a higher quality of life and well being. We also belive that many of the social and economic problems today can be resolved and avoided by giving more financial freedom to people.

Public services with higher quality and lower prices.

The internal market in Liberstad will include the same goods and services that will be offered in the open and public market. In addition it will alson include services that are intended for the residents of the city such as renovation, snowshoveling, gardening etc. The internal market will not contain goods and services which are illegal in Norway.

As stated earlier Liberstad will be an open city for all visitors and tourists. We wish to offer goods and services that can help to increase the sales and profitability in the city and we encourage everyone to start businesses to help the development of Liberstad and stimulate the internal economy of the city.

One of the main goals of Liberstad is to develop a complete city without any political council. Where all services that are expected of a city id provided by private actors based on a completly free market. With all the services needed we refer to private hospitals, nursing homes and other health services, private schools and kindergardens, fire protection, security and insurance companies.

Most of these services will also be avalible to everone and not just the residents of Liberstad, and this is one of the benefits to the remaining community. Because the authorities of Norway is struggling to provide public services of reasonable quality to its citizens, Liberstad can reduce the pressure on the government services.

Because of the free market economy in Liberstad we belive that we can provide public services of higher quality and at a lower cost than what the government of Norway can provide.

What if the government of Norway don't allow the project?

We do not need Norway's permission to carry out this project, but we hope that the Norwegian government is positive to the project and see the possibilities and benefits that might arise from this. We will do our part to have a positive and constructive dialogue with the government. Liberstad is a project that can benefit all citizens of Norway, and there should be no reason for the government to oppose it if the goal of the government is to contribute to positive development of the society.

If the Norwegian government oppose this project we will take it as a sign that they do not want to find out if a more free society can provide the citizens with higher quality of life and well-being, and that they do not want to find out if an economy based on the Austrian school provides better development, more jobs and better economy for its citizens

We are not interested in finding out whether the governments finances is better served by this system, we want to find out if all people in a society is better served with such an economic system. An economic system that provides all the required services needed such as schools, safety and security, health service etc. But with higher quality and at a lower cost, and at the same time increasing the freedom, prosperity and quality of life for all humans.

If this project can show that a society works better with a free market, then it may in the future be expanded to a larger scale and give hope for a freer and more peaceful society and future. Nothing si better than if Liberstad can contribute to more freedom, better quality of life and a better economy for everyone.
