FreeID Agreement
This FreeID Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by the Liberstad Membership Organisation ("LMO") and the individual ("Member") accepting these terms during membership registration. The Agreement governs the issuance, use, and management of the FreeID, which is the sole recognized identity within The Free City of Liberstad.
1. Purpose of the FreeID
The FreeID identity system is the official form of identification within The Free City of Liberstad, representing each member's status as a free, autonomous individual. By agreeing to this document, the Member consents to the issuance of a FreeID by the Liberstad FreeID Office. This FreeID will serve as the Member's unique identifier and replace any external, state-issued identities within the city’s boundaries.
2. Creation of FreeID
The Member agrees to the creation of a new identity, known as "FreeID," by the Liberstad FreeID Office. This FreeID will be based on a FreeID Identity Document, which includes essential information for verification and identification purposes.
3. Issuance of the FreeID Identity Certificate
Upon issuance of the FreeID, the Member will receive a copy of the FreeID Identity Certificate. This Certificate documents the Member's FreeID information and includes verification details required for identification within Liberstad. This Certificate serves as the Member's official identification within the city.
4. Storage of FreeID Identity Certificate and Private Key Backup
The Liberstad FreeID Office will securely store the original FreeID Identity Certificate along with a backup document for the private keys associated with the Member's FreeID’s Decentralized Identifier (DID). This secure storage ensures the Member’s identity remains protected and verifiable within the FreeID system.
5. Custodianship of Private Keys
The FreeID Office will act as custodian of the private keys linked to the Member's FreeID and associated DID, managing secure handling and potential updates to the Member's identity. The Member acknowledges that the FreeID Office retains custody of these keys on their behalf while the FreeID system is under development.
6. Authorization of FreeID Office Authority
By agreeing to this document, the Member authorizes the Liberstad FreeID Office to act on their behalf for actions requiring the use of private keys associated with the FreeID. This includes verification of the Member's identity and any necessary signing actions related to the FreeID identity.
7. Agreement to Potential Modifications
The Member understands that the FreeID system is actively developing and may evolve to include additional functionalities or security features. The Member agrees to adhere to any adjustments to custodianship, use, or management of the FreeID as established by the Liberstad FreeID Office and communicated by the LMO.
By checking the box, I, the Member, agree to the terms of this FreeID Agreement and consent to the issuance and custodianship of my FreeID identity by the Liberstad FreeID Office, acknowledging that my identity within The Free City of Liberstad will be governed solely by the FreeID system.
